about the Bournemouth Vineyard church

Young Vineyard

Young Vineyard
is what we call our children's ministry. Every Sunday morning there is a fun-packed, full-on programme especially for the children.

Our vision

...to plant and nurture seeds of faith in every child; that they experience a real, deep and lasting relationship with Jesus and make their own personal profession of faith.Bournemouth Vineyard Church

Why we exist

Young Vineyard exists to teach children about Jesus and have lots of fun and laughter along the way. We use puppets, story-telling, craft activities, songs and teaching - everything we do is focused on helping the children to understand that God loves them and that Jesus is their friend and Saviour.

From a young age we want to establish a strong and Godly foundation that will be life-lasting; one that helps point the way to a personal profession of their faith.

Young Vineyard exists not only to reveal Jesus to children, but also as a ministry to parents and carers so that they can benefit from all that the main adult service has to offer. Our desire is that the whole family are looked after whilst at Bournemouth Vineyard.

What we see...

* We see children waking up parents on Sunday mornings, excited to be going to Young Vineyard; children who feel affirmed and valued, full of self-esteem and confidence; wise in the Lord beyond their years.
* We see a growing group of children who are seen as different by their friends in the best possible way, all because of the impact that Jesus has had on their lives.
* We see children full of smiles and laughter and joy; where first-time apprehension is melted away by a friendly welcome; where younger children feel secure being without mum or dad, knowing that they will be OK.
* We see children praying for one another and for their families; children equipped and enabled and released in being naturally supernatural.
* We see leaders and helpers gifted and equipped at Biblical teaching in contemporary, imaginative and fun way; leaders and helpers who are passionate about children's ministry; committed to Jesus and modelling Jesus to the children they serve.
* We see children lying facedown in praise and adoration for their Saviour; where the shouts of praise and the songs of worship are heard resounding throughout the building.

What we value

Fun - we want children to enjoy positive experiences of church and relationship with God and with each other. Where solid foundations are formed which last for life.
Friendship - we value the importance of strong, dependable relationships; where children can benefit from fellowship with like-minded children and form long-lasting Christian friendships.
Spirit-led - we believe in the availability of intimate relationship with Jesus wherever the presence of the Holy Spirit is welcomed; we trust Him to lead and guide us to be more like Jesus.
Worship - we seek to help children discover their own personal relationship with Jesus and encourage them in their own unique expressions of praise and worship.
Family - we recognise the importance of the family unit and strive to reinforce and maintain its value; supporting both parents, carers and children in any way possible. We also recognise the need to reinforce the same Godly values that parents are teaching in the home.
Bible - we believe the Bible if God's word to us in every situation; we believe its truth has significance and power to speak into every child's life.
Service - we believe in the importance of children learning to share and serve; to prefer others before themselves; where kindness and real love is modelled and demonstrated in all our meetings together.
Safety - we value the importance of security and safety. We provide an environment where children feel secure leaving mum or dad to come to their groups; and where mum or dad are happy to leave their children in capable hands.

What we do on Sundays

On Sunday mornings, once children are registered, the children join together for their own shared time of praise and worship. Creche children are welcome to attend, accompanied by parents, otherwise the creche is open from the beginning of the service. After worship, the group leaders take the children to their individual groups (see age ranges of groups, below) for a morning of fun and learning. Parents collect children from their groups after the adult service finishes.

Finally, we very much look forward to meeting you and your child. Why not come and see what we do? You will be very welcome. Here are the groups and age ranges that we currently run on Sunday mornings.
