Small Groups

Bournemouth Vineyard ChurchSmall groups are at the heart of the Bournemouth Vineyard. Church is not just about what we do on a Sunday; it's about real relationships with people.

It can be very easy to feel lost in a large crowd on a Sunday. Our small groups, or 'kinships' as we call them offer a setting where we can have real relationship with God and real relationship with each other. Our small groups are therefore highly relational.

Small groups meet in people's homes during the week, across the Bournemouth region, so there's bound to be a group that meets near you. We currently have groups meeting on Tuesdays, Wednesday's and Thursdays. Click here to go to the diary and see what groups are meeting today.

Small groups provide the perfect smaller setting to meet with friends, a place of support and encouragement, and a place to know and be known. We encourage everyone to join a small group and we suggest people try two or three different groups before deciding. Whilst all our small groups have thes ame broad mix of values and content, each group is unique in it's flavour and style - so there's something for everyone.

During a typical small group evening you might worship together, pray for each other, and have a time of sharing or teaching. Small groups may also organise social events and get involved in blessing the community through outreach and serving activities.

How do I find a Small Group?

A small group flyer is available from the Connect Desk at church on Sundays and that provides an up to date listing of all our current small groups and contact details. Feel free to then ring the leaders if you need more information about the group, or you need to know the exact location. All our small groups have an "open door" policy and welcome visitors. This allows you to find the group that best suits you, even though it may not necessarily be the closest, geographically. The pastoral staff will also happy to help you find a group that best suits your circumstances, just drop us a line at the office.

Bournemouth Vineyard ChurchWhere do they meet?

Our Kinships meet all over the Bournemouth area: Boscombe East, Boscombe Manor, Southbourne, Moordown, Winton, Charminster, Christchurch, Littledown, Redhill, Pokesdown, Tuckton, Springbourne, Ferndown, Bearwood, Ringwood

What are the benefits of being in a small group?

Care. It's our aim to grow a church where people really love and care for each other.

Nurture. Kinships are a place where we can learn to do the works of the kingdom, compassion ministry to the poor, and outreach. Many of our ministries require you to belong to a small group first, where there is accountability before you can actively join the team.

Equipping. Kinship is a safe place where we can grow and learn to use kingdom gifts; to prophecy, give words of knowledge and to minister in the power of the Holy Spirit. They're also where we can hear God's Word taught in a practical and inspiring way.

Worship. Worship is central to life at Bournemouth Vineyard and this is no different in our small groups. Intimacy and accessibility are two of our core values in worship.

Fun. Healthy relationships and deep friendships are fundamental; so food and fun are important ingredients in many of our small groups! In fact, some people even feel more comfortable inviting their friends to kinship social events before inviting them to church.

Ultimately, kinship is a group of people learning how to be family. Our small groups are constantly growing. We aim to grow groups to about twelve people and then to multiply the group into two smaller families. We encourage all our groups to gather in new people and to nurture and train new leaders.

Kinships meet all over the Bournemouth locality on most days of the week, so there's sure to be one that's accessible to you, whatever your circumstances or schedule! We are also always looking for new hosts homes.
